What you’ll need

• Soft toothbrush: dentures are delicate and can be easily damaged. Given their sensitive nature, soft toothbrushes are better to clean them. Avoid electric toothbrushes and stiff or hard bristled denture brushes, as these are considered less gentle than soft, manual toothbrushes.
• Water: there’s two potential needs for water in cleaning your dentures. First, you’ll need water to dissolve your dental cleaning solution. Secondly, many dentures need to be soaked in water overnight to remain flexible.
• Dental cleaning solution: these solutions support the removal of food particles and bacteria from your dentures.

• Rinse after eating: Rinsing your dentures after eating helps clear food particles from the dentures surface, supporting long term oral hygiene.
• Clean your mouth after taking out dentures: Use a soft bristled brush on your natural teeth, tongue, cheeks and roof of your mouth to clear out any bacteria or residual food.
• Brush your dentures daily: Using a soft bristled brush, gently brush our dentures to remove bacteria, food particles and plaque. After brushing, rinse dentures in warm water.
• Soak dentures overnight: To help your dentures remain intact, keep them in water overnight. This affirms they remain flexible and not become brittle.
• Rinse dentures before putting them back in your mouth: To confirm there’s no additional solution or bacteria on your dentures prior to placing them back in your mouth, rinse them well under warm water.

• Let the cleaner dissolve: After you’ve poured your solution into water, let it dissolve for about three minutes. This allows enough time for the crystals to completely dissolve.
